Angry youths reportedly disrupt INEC ad-hoc staff training in Katsina
Reports reaching us at Katsina Post has it that angry youths in some Local Governments in Katsina reportedly disrupt INEC ad-hoc staff training today.
Angry with the selection processes for the successful shortlisted staff for the training, the youths stormed some of the training centers in the state and protested, in some Local Governments even disrupting the training.
For instance, in Charanchi Local Government, our reported informed us that some youths numbering in hundreds stormed the training venue and chased away INEC officials and even some of the trainees before a particular class was assigned to them to participate.
Some of the youths interviewed by our reporter expressed their dissatisfaction with the INEC’s selection procedure pointing out that non-indigenes were giving priority while most of them from the local government that applied were not considered.
Other Local Governments that similar fracas occurred during the training are Kaita, Jibia, Kurfi, and Batsari.
Recall that INEC slated Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of February for the training of INEC ad-hoc staff across the 34 LGA of the state.
INEC is yet to respond to the issue as at press time.
