The suspects, Omoseyin Rotimi, 43, from Ondo State, and Omoniyi Olowoporoku, 31, from Edo State, were arrested by the NIS operatives at the Mazanya and Daura patrol bases, respectively, while attempting to ferry some of their victims across the Nigerian borders to the Niger Republic.

The NIS Comptroller in the State, Mr Ajisafe Olusola, disclosed this at a news conference on Thursday in Katsina.
Olusola stated that one of the suspects was found with a passport and resident permit of Libya.

“The suspects intended to smuggle their victims out of the country to Libya en route Niger Republic.

“It may interest you to know that one of the traffickers claimed to be the husband of his victim.

“The duo was brought to Nigeria from Libya in 2018; they are unrepentant human traffickers because no sooner than they returned to Nigeria, that they constituted themselves to very powerful recruitment agents.
