Politics a noble profession – Masari
Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari, yesterday, said politics is a noble profession which all must be involved in to make it wholesome, Daily Trust reports.
Speaking at a rally held by teachers in the state for his reelection and that of President Muhammadu Buhari, Masari said if virtuous people refused to join politics, they would end up leaving it in the hands of people with questionable character.
Masari added that the worst scenario was when people of bad character took over the affairs of the state because it would spell doom for the polity and the nation as well.
“Teachers who mould society should endeavour to play their parts in politics; politics is not all about seeking office, but taking part in the process that will lead to things being done accordingly,” he said.
Masari said the opposition parties in the country were jittery of the APC’s presidential candidate because of his long built integrity and truthfulness, adding “no candidate in 2019 can surpass this man.”
“If all the opposition parties acknowledge this, why then the uproar to seek office when you cannot beat him in honesty and integrity tests which are the vital qualities of leadership?” he said.
