Over 250 inhabitants of Tsamben Tsauni and Tsamben Kolumbo villages of Mallamawa ward in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State have relocated to Jibia town following a bandits’ attack on their villages at the weekend, Daily Trust reports.

The Internally Displaced Persons, mostly women and children, are currently taking refuge at the Jibia model market.

A visit to the temporary camp showed that camping activities were gradually taking up with the Red Cross and members of various Islamic groups rendering help.

It was gathered that a mob in the area had on Saturday had reportedly killed three persons alleged to be informants to bandits and kidnappers.

Prior to that, suspected bandits had attacked the village Friday night, abducting one elderly man and injuring many.
