N5.7bn SURE-P: Court case of EFCC against Shema resumes today
The court case filed by the Katsina State government and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against Katsina State Ex-Governor Ibrahim Shema alleging that he squandered N5.7bn Sure-p fund during his administration continues today at the Federal High court, Katsina.
Recall that on 13th November 2018, Nasiru Ingawa, the former Special Adviser to the ex-governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State on SURE-P and a trusted aide, had told the court how Shema allegedly directed him to divert billions of Naira of the state’s SURE-P funds for political activities during his tenure.
After the testimony, the prosecution counsel, Mr. O I Uket, applied for an adjournment, which the defense counsel did not object.
The judge, Justice Hadiza Rabiu Shagari, adjourned the case to today Jan. 14, 2019, for continuation.
