Not less than N36m was spent by Katsina State Government in establishing three vocational centres in the state, the state commissioner Women Affairs Dr. Badiya Mashi has said.

Our correspondent gathered that each vocational centre has 5 components which include, Waste to wealth carbonized charcoal centre, Information and Communication Technology, Baby Day Care and a Gymnasium.

Speaking at the inauguration of one of the centres for Katsina Senatorial District at the weekend, the commissioner said the centres were established gave more opportunities to women across the state.

“No fewer than 1000 women are expected to be trained in Wealth to Waste projects, a single component of the center.”

She said, with time new initiatives like recycling projects were expected to be introduced adding that women empowerment projects were aimed at making them self sufficient.
