Just In: Governor Masari got another ‘award of excellence’

The Katsina state Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari has been conferred with an award of excellence for the restoration of Agriculture in Katsina state.

The chairman of a Lagos based Agricultural Business Forum, Mr Abubakar Paul presented the award to the Governor at a brief ceremony at government house, Katsina.

In an acceptance speech, Governor Masari spoke at length on the history of Agriculture under the Katsina Native Authority- NA and how it contributed to boosting the internally generated funds for the Northern government and subsequently the federal government.

He explained that even before assumption into office, a committee set up by the Restoration Agenda drafted agenda for the revival of agriculture, which is being strictly adhered to assiduously.

Commenting on this year’s crowned sarakunan noma during the just concluded 2018 Agric show held at kafin soli in Kankiya local government, Alhaji Aminu Masari requested them to ensure that their children study agriculture in Tertiary institutions across Nigeria to improve upon their present level of agricultural production.

Governor Masari assured that the APC administration in Katsina state would continue to consolidate on the gains so far recorded in the sector.

Earlier, the special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture, Dr Abba Yakubu Abdullahi told the Governor that they were at government house to present crowned sarakunan noma.

Dr Abba Yakubu Abdullahi named them to include Sarkin noma, Alhaji Rayyanu Tanko from Dandume, Sarkin noma na matasa, Alhaji Awwalu Danyaya from Batagarawa, Sarkin Lambu, Alhaji Gambo Kibiya from kofar Baru, Daura, Sarauniyar noma from Katsina, Hajiya Binta Haruna Dalhatu and sarauniyar kiwo, Hajiya Binta Ibrahim also from Katsina.

Dr Abba Yakubu also announced an award from Kankiya local government to the Governor for selecting the area to host the agric show.

The crowned sarakunan noma who spoke separately commended Governor Masari for the tremendous effort geared towards restoring agriculture in the state.
