S-Power: Katsina gov’t completes arrangements for recruitment of fresh 2,000 teachers 

Katsina State Government has completed arrangements for recruitment of 2000 graduates with secondary school teaching requirements under the state S-Power scheme.

The Secretary to the Government of the State, Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa disclosed that while monitoring the commencement of payment of allowances to 5000 primary school teachers under the State S-Power Scheme.

Addressing the teachers at Katsina Center, the SGS said recently the State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari approved the release of N400m to pay 4months areas ( July – October) to the teachers.

He attributed the delay of the payment to some administrative/ financial processes which had been completed emphasizing that henceforth they would be paid their N20,000 monthly allowances along with state workers salary. Mustapha Inuwa who is also the Chairman of the State S-Power Committee charged the teachers to show reciprocity by being committed to duty.

While appreciating the process of the payment as well conduct of the S-Power teachers said government will consider them in replacement of any vacuum that might be created as a result of retirement or otherwise amongst the permanent teachers in the state.

He also urged them to notify their authorities in case one gets another job or any reason that requires quitting the S-Power scheme.

The SGS explained that such information would provide the opportunity to engage another person from the teaming unemployed youths who are still seeking for this kind of opportunity.

A press statement issued by the Director Press to the Secretary to the Government of the State, Abdullahi Aliyu Yar’adua said the SGS would monitor the payments at 12 centers designated for the payments to the S-Power teachers.

The Centers are Funtua, Faskari, Malumfashi and Musawa in Funtua zone. Daura, Baure, Mani and Kankia in Daura Zone. Then Katsina, Dutsinma, Rimi and Safana in Katsina zone. The exercise is to last for two consecutive days despite Tuesday being declared as public holiday.
The SGS has so far visited Rimi, KT, DTM SFN M/F, MSW and KNK centers. High light of the visits was presentation of cash payment to some teachers by SGS as symbolic flag off if the exercise.
