Katsina gov’t procure, distribute 86,500 textbooks for N371m

The Katsina State government has spent over (371) million naira in the provision of not fewer than (86,500) textbooks and other instructional materials for the enhancement of education in 2018.
This was made known in a press statement signed by the public relation officer of the ministry of education Alhaji Salisu Lawal Kerau, on 6th, November, 2018. And made available to the newsmen in the state.
“The Honourable Commissioner for education Associate Prof. Badamasi Lawal disclosed this during symbolic distribution of eighty six thousand five hundred (86,500) copies of assorted text books to the twelve (12) zonal education quality assurance coordinators for onward distribution to schools across the state.” The statement stated.
He also stressed that the procurement of the instructional materials is inline with the present administration’s agenda to uplift quality of teaching and learning in every nooks and crannies of the state.
More so, the assorted textbooks include History, Computer, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, literature, Civic Education, Mathematics and English language, among others.
Lastly, Dr Badamasi urged principals to make appropriate use of the distributed books instead of adopting old culture of the books to decay, as such he emphases on the need to urgently distribute the books among students for the purposes they are meant for.
