INEC to recruit 4000 ad hoc staff for Kankia/Kusada/Ingawa consituency bye-election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to recruit no fewer than 4,000 ad hoc staff to conduct Kankia/Kusada/Ingawa federal constituency bye-election on November 17.
The commission also disclosed that 216,605 voters are eligible to participate in the upcoming bye-election.
The bye-election was necessitated following the resignation of the former member of the National Assembly, Ahmed Kaita, who contested and won the Senate seat of Daura Senatorial zone.
Alhaji Ibrahim Zarewa, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner revealed that the bye-election will hold across the 361 wards of the constituency.
According to him, the commission is set to give all the new voters that registered from January to August this year their voters card.
“Nobody will be left out during the bye-election, as we are determined to conduct a free and fair election,” he said.
The REC appealed to politicians and the electorates to show maturity during the conduct of the exercise.
