Governor Aminu Bello Masari this Sunday visited and sympathized with people threatened by armed bandits incursion from neighboring Zamfara in Jibia, Batsari and Safana local government areas.

Governor Masari’s first port of call was Shimfida village in Jibia, where security operatives station for operation sharan Daji were at government day secondary school, Shimfida.

Addressing people in the village, Alhaji Aminu Masari said he had been receiving reports of security problems in the village and decided to visit the area as government business was all about saving lives and property. He told people of Shimfida that on his way, he had seen the deplorable condition of their road, the day secondary school as well as the primary school.

Governor Masari assured that everything would be done to address the problems of the road and the schools. He also assured to complete the electricity project started and abandoned in Shimfida village.

Earlier, the caretaker committee chairman of jibiya told Governor Masari that the people were happy with the recent posting of security operatives for the operation sharan daji. Since then, he said nothing has been heard of the armed bandits. At Batsari model primary school, Governor Masari addressed IDPs from Dunburawa village.

Brigadier General Omoniyi of the 17 brigade of the Nigerian Army told Governor Masari that normalcy had been restored in their community. The Governor therefore directed that the people should be returned home by tomorrow. He told the IDPs that they could go home with the relief materials provided to them by Katsina state government.

At Illela in safana local government, Governor Masari directed for the immediate removal of the representative of the villagehead and if not a resident should be relocated to elsewhere. This followed a complaint by people of Illela that the Wakili had been conniving with cattle rustlers to deprived them of their animals.

Governor Masari sympathise with people of Illela over the kidnapping of the councillor from the ward.

Alhaji Aminu Masari was also shown another victim of kidnapping just released after payment of ransom by his relations. The Governor assured that government would step up efforts to curb armed banditry, kidnapping and other vices in the state.

At Dan tudun Gora in Danmusa local government, Governor Masari told the people that he was there to sympathise with them over cattle rustlers attack last Friday in the village.

Alhaji Aminu Masari requested them to provide security with useful information on the whereabouts of rustlers and their cohorts. Alhaji Aminu Masari also harped on the need for them to allow children to obtain both Islamic and Western education.

The caretaker committee chairman, Alhaji Sanusi Dangi told the Governor that the people were happy with the rapid response of the administration over the cattle rustling incidence.

On his part, the District head of Yantumaki explained that no leader had visited them over the various criminal activities in the domain.

He told the gathering that no day pass in the domain without one criminal activity or the other.
