Two supervisory councilors of Safana local government area of Katsina state have been abducted, Daily trust reports.

They are Hussaini Wanzam (Finance) and Bishir Dan Jikko (Water and Sanitation).

Daily Trust reporter gathered that they were abducted by their captors on their way to Batsari after close of work yesterday.

Until now, no ransom has been demanded by their abductors.

In another development, the police officers in Katsina command have arrested 10 suspects who allegedly robbed one Abdulbasir Jargaba in Funtua Local Government Area, of valuables and also abducted his eight-year-old son, Abdulhazeez Basir.

Punch reports the suspects are Hussaini Abdullahi, 42; Ibrahim Umar, 60; Abubakar Idris, 20; Samaila Abdullahi,28; Saidu Ibrahim 20 and Halidu Ibrahim, 30.

Others included Shaibu Maikudi, 20; Ibrahim Alhasan, 45, Mohammed Adamu, 22 and Shehu Lawal, 32.

Parading the suspects in Abuja on Monday, the force spokesman, Moshood Jimoh, said five AK47 rifles, one locally-made pump-action rifle and 105 AK47 ammunition were recovered from the suspects.
