The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed 17th November, 2018 for the conduct of Kankia/Ingawa/Kusada federal constituency bye election.

Recalled that the bye-election comes after Ahmad Babba Kaita, the lawmaker representing the constituency succeeded late Senator Mustapha Bukar as a senator of Katsina North senatorial districts.

Katsina post reports that the Speaker Katsina state house of Assembly, Abubakar Yahya Kusada is contesting for the seat under platform of All Progressive Party (APC).

It could be recalled that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has declared Kankia/Kusada federal constituency vacant.

This declaration is coming as a result of the swearing in of member of the House: Ahmed Babba-Kaita as senator by the senate president, Bukola Saraki.

Ahmad Babba Kaita of APC won Katsina north senatorial seat after defeating his opponent Kabir Babba Kaita of Peoples Democratic Party who is also his elder brother.
