Federal Medical Centre, Katsina to reportedly be relocated to Daura
A development news reaching us at Katsina Post has it that the federal government has reportedly set all the machineries for the convert of the Federal Tertiary Hospital, the Federal Medical Centre in Katsina to a full-blown teaching Hospital.
Katsina Post also gathered that the Federal Medical Centre will then be moved to Daura town.
This was disclosed to our reporter by one of the highly ranked officials of the hospital and who pleaded for anonymity.
The teaching hospital, when finally actualized would serve the State and Federal owned Universities – Umaru Musa Yar’adua University and Federal University, Dustin-ma for the purpose of teaching their medical students.
It could be recalled that the state government had earlier constituted a committee that will look into the possibility of converting the State-owned General Amadi Rimi Specialist and Orthopedic Hospital to a Teaching Hospital following the earlier resistance of the Federal government to convert the FMC to a Teaching Hospital.
