A man, Saminu Abdullahi of Dutsen Bori village in the Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina, has lost chickens and ducks valued at N60,000 to a gang of armed robbers who invaded his house, Punch newspaper reports.
The hoodlums injured him on his legs and face for failing to give them money after which they made away with 10 chickens and three ducks.
The police said the robbers, who invaded Abdullahi’s house about 3am, were armed with guns, machets and sticks.
Two of the five-member robbery gang apprehended by the police have, however, been arraigned before a Katsina State Magistrates’ Court for criminal conspiracy and armed robbery under sections 6 (b) and 1 (2) (a) (b) of the Robbery and Firearms and Special Provision Act.
The defendants are Amadu Baushe and Usman Abdullahi, both of Dutsen Bori village.
Other members of the gang, still at large, are Bala Juli, Bammi Juli and Alkali Juli.
The magistrate, Hajiya Fadile Dikko, on Thursday, adjourned the case till December 13, 2018, for mention on the request of the police prosecutor, Inspector Sani Ado.
