APC Primary election: Katsina federal lawmaker takes fight to National stage
It will be unconstitutional to accept Katsina primaries result – Federal lawmaker tells APC leaders
The lawmaker representing Dutsima/ Kurfi constituency in Katsina state, Danlami Kurfi has said that it would be unconstitutional for the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to accept results from the primary in the state.
Kurfi while speaking to NAIJ.com said there was no APC primary election in Katsina state on Friday, 5th October, as widely speculated. According to the lawmaker, members and officials of the APC from the national headquarters were absent at the primaries as expected.
He said: “There were no primaries in Dutsima/Kurfi constituency where I represent. Not one official of our party was present at the venue of the primaries, this is unconstitutional.
“Not even one member of the party from the national office was present to conduct the primaries,” Kurfi said.
Kurfi further called on the leadership of the APC especially the party’s national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole to come to their rescue and investigate the exercise which he said, “purportedly took place in the constituency.”
“I urged the APC leadership at the national secretariat, the national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to come to our aid. There were no primaries in my constituency as enshrined in our constitution,” Kurfi added.
