Masari suggests exit door to aggrieved Katsina APC aspirants

Those not happy with the primary election are free to leave – Masari to aggrieved Katsina APC aspirants

A stakeholders meeting of All Progressive Congress – APC has been held at the banquet hall of the presidential lodge at government house, Katsina.

Declaring the meeting opened, the state chairman of APC, Alhaji Shitu S. Shitu told participants that the meeting was convened to soothe nerves of the aspirants that lost during the just concluded party primaries held throughout the state.

He expressed optimism that the party would want members to forge a common front for the victory of its candidates in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.

Addressing the stakeholders, Governor Aminu Bello Masari explained that it had become imperative for the meeting to be convened to ask losers to be patient and accept the outcome of the party primaries. Alhaji Aminu Masari explained that in every contest, there must be a winner and a loser.

He, therefore, pleaded with the aspirants that either contested and win or loss to forge a common front for the party to emerge victorious in the 2019 general elections. Governor Masari, however, warned that there must not be the formation of unions within the APC.

Governor Masari specifically asked aspirants who contested and lost to desist from forming Union of aspirants that lost in the APC party primaries.

The Governor, apparently not happy with the formation of the union of aspirants that lost, said anybody not happy with the outcome of the primary election is free to leave the party stressing that it is better for the party to lose the aggrieved politicians than to accommodate them knowing fully well that they may harm them in 2019 elections.

He reminded party members that the rules and regulations of APC do not permit formation of unions and associations within the party.

The meeting later went into closed-door session.
