Live update as 137 aspirants jostles for 34 APC Katsina House of Assembly seats
No fewer than 137 aspirants are jostling for the 34 State House of Assembly tickets of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State ahead of the upcoming 2019 general elections.
This was confirmed to our source by the spokesman of the Katsina APC, Abubakar Gambo Danmusa in a telephone interview earlier.
The primary election for the aspirants will, all things being equal, hold today across the state and winners will emerge thereafter.
Katsina Post learned that the party officials in the state had during the last weekend met with the contestants in a bid to produce consensus candidate but all efforts for that failed.
It could be recalled that the APC had conducted senatorial election primaries in the state which resulted in the emergence of Hon. Ahmad Babba Kaita, Bello Mandiya, and Kabir Barkiya as candidates for Daura, Funtua and Katsina senatorial zones.
Earlier yesterday, the primary election for the 15 House of Representatives seats also held and winners emerged
