Katsina assembly asks Masari to convert state’s casual to permanent staff

The Katsina state house of assembly has deliberated on a motion reminding Governor Aminu Bello Masari to recruit casual workers as permanent staff.

The deliberations followed a joint motion tabled by Ahmed Abubakar Adidas and Sulaiman Yakubu Tsanni representing Maiadua and Batagarawa constituencies respectively.

While defending the motion, Ahmed Adidas said, “It becomes necessary in view of the way and manner casual workers have been exploited with many of them serving in that capacity between 10 to 15 years.”

The member pointed out that the state assembly like any other parastatals is experiencing shortages of workers especially the junior cadre.

He also described the disparity between casual and permanent workers as widely.

The speaker, Abubakar Yahya Kusada mandated the committee on the administration to make the necessary findings and report to the house within two weeks.
