Katsina state moves to criminalised marriage without HIV screening
The Katsina State Agency for the control of AIDS (SACA) has said that a bill seeking to criminalised marriage without HIV screening for the intending couples is before the State governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari.
This was disclosed to the public by the agency’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Muntari Hassan Kankia when he led the management team of the agency to to the chairman caretaker committee of Zango Local government.
The Executive Secretary, who represented by the Director, Policy and Resources mobilization of the Agency, Alhaji Buhari Mamman Daura also called on intending couples to go for voluntary screening for the HIV to tamed the spread of the disease.
In another development, Muslims had been advised to strictly adhere to the teaching of Islam and Hadeeth of the prophet in all their day to day activities.
This advise was given by the transition committee on sensitization against the emergence of Hakika religious sect in Kaita Local government.
The committee chairman in Kaita, Eng. Bello ‘Yan daki who led the committee members to Kaita, appealed to traditional and religious leaders to redouble their efforts in sensitizing the general public on the danger of the new sect.
Eng. Bello also stated that the new sect had crossed out of the tenants and teachings of the Islamic religion as well has pose a great danger on the security and general well being of muslims.
