Two men who were said to belong to an armed robbery and kidnap gang have been apprehended by the police in Katsina.

Ibrahim Ali,18 and Usman Yusuf, 30, both of Gozaki village in the Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State, along with other members of the gang now at large, were said to have terrorized residents of Kafur, Danja, and Malumfashi Local Government Areas.

The Katsina State Police spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, said the duo were picked up on August 23, 2018.

According to him, the two suspects and their gang members had in the early hours of August 17 attacked the residence of one  Alhaji Musa Adamu of Gozaki village in the Kafur Local Government Area.

The gang reportedly robbed their victim of an unspecified amount of money and also kidnapped his 14-year-old daughter.

Isah said Alli and Yusuf confessed that the gang also masterminded the kidnap of two other girls.

He added that the gang extorted N500,000 ransom from the family of the girl kidnapped at Hunkuyi while the other girl that was abducted at Gozaki reportedly escaped from their custody.
