Katsina state gov’t lease out Katsina City mall to business owners

The Katsina State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Katsina Business Partners Association under the leadership of Alhaji Umar Stores to lease out KATSINA CITY MALL for a period of three years.

Speaking at the event, the chairman of the Business Partners association, Alhaji Umar, said the Katsina city Mall is a multi million naira business venture that when fully taken over will bring employment opportunities to the teeming youth in the state.

He added that with the economic activities that will be kick started in the mall, it will have a positive impact on the development of the state, adding that it would provide a veritable platform for Katsina State to experience accelerated economic growth and transformation.

The Secretary to the State Government , Dr Mustafa Inuwa who signed the agreement on behalf of the government reiterated the Government commitment in helping Businesses flourish in katsina state.

He also cited previous effort by a foreign business conglomerate to take over the mall which was truncated by interest from within the state.

He said that the signing of the MoU is an acknowledgement of the fact that the Small and Medium Businesess remained a critical aspect in implementing the Economic Empowerment  policy of this administration, given their potential to reduce poverty and push job and wealth creation for people living in the state.

It could be recalled that the shopping mall was built by the previous administration led by Ex-Governor Shema.
