UMYUK English student shot dead by armed robbers

The Umaru Musa Yar’adua University has lost a student from English and literary studies department. Muhammad Kamaluddeen Alaka was the spilling over student in the varsity who was an indigene of Ilorin.

Alaka was shot on the head by armed robbers on his way back home along Abuja to Kaduna highway after completion of his spilling examination. The incidence occurred on Thursday 19th, of July 2018.

President of Association of the Department of English and literary studies in the varsity, Sahaluddeen Salih Belgore has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the students of English Department and the varsity at large.

” We are very grieved about the sudden demise of one of the Colleagues, comrade in struggle, spill over student of department of English Shehu Kamaladdeen who was shot and killed by armed robbers on his way home along Abuja to Kaduna highway after his last paper.”

“Shehu was an active member of National Association of Students of English and literary studies (NASELS).

He had held several posts in the departmental association throughout his stay. We have lost not just a member, but a useful brother, counselor and a trusted Colleague.” He added.

Kamaluden was reported to be an excellent fellow, whose demeanor was indiscriminate to all an sundry. He was a practicing Muslim with humanity to all, and promising child to his parent.

The president went further added ” without doubt, Alaka has left us without a farewell, albeit we are compelled to acknowledge the fact; but the little while he spent with us shall forever live in our memories.”

In conclusion, Belgore prayed for Kamaluddeen’s shortcomings and seek for Allah’s mercy upon the departed soul. Also, he solicited the varsity students to include Alaka in their prayers.
