News reaching us at www.katsinapost.com has it that residents of Barawa and Salihawa villages of Batagarawa Local government, Katsina State had earlier today – the 14th of June killed three suspected armed robbers that tried to attack them.

Katsina Police Command confirmed the incident in a press release signed by the command public relations officer, DSP Gambo Isah.

According to him, Police Special Anti Robber Squad (SARS) has been drafted to the scene with a view to arresting other fleeing members of the syndicate as investigation is ongoing.

The Katsina State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that today being 14/06/2018 at about 08:30hrs, the Divisional Police Officer, Batagarawa Division received information that, armed robbers had blocked the road between Barawa and Salihawa village, Batagarawa LGA of Katsina state and shot one Sani Lawal ‘m’ aged 31yrs of Salihawa village, Batagarawa LGA.

The DPO and his team immediately swung into action and moved to the scene. Before the arrival of the police patrol team, the villagers had already summoned courage and mobilized to the scene where three yet to be identified armed robbers were lynched and one locally made pistol was recovered.

Two of the robbers died instantly while the other was rescued unconscious. Both the victim and the surviving suspect were rushed to the General Hospital, Katsina, for treatment.

Subsequently the suspect later died on admission while the victim is responding to treatment.

Police Special Anti Robber Squad (SARS) has been drafted to the scene with a view to arresting other fleeing members of the syndicate. Investigation is ongoing.
