The Katsina state Executive council has set up modalities for the completion of Dubai international market in Katsina metropolis.

The state commissioner of works, Housing and Transport, Engineer Tasi’u Dahiru Dandagoro made this known during a press briefing shortly after a meeting of Katsina state executive council presided over by Governor Aminu Bello Masari at government house chamber, Katsina.

Engineer Tasi’u Dandagoro announced that the council had approved for the appointment of a consultant, Mess MULTISYSTEM to supervise the completion of the Dubai Market.

The commissioner revealed that the council had deliberated on reports from ministries, Departments and Agencies on the progress of projects awarded under the restoration agenda of the APC administration in Katsina state.

He said the Masari administration is engaged in the construction of 71 road projects.

Engineer Tasi’u Dandagoro announced that some of the roads are new, completion of some ongoing and 39 rural feeder roads.

He said the council was satisfied with the progress of the road projects so far.

It could be recalled that the Katsina Dubai International market project was started by the previous state government under the stewardship of Katsina Ex-Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema but was abandoned by the current government due to some issues of alleged corruption and financial mismanagement in the award of the contract.

Other government officials that attended the briefing included the state commissioner of Information, Culture and Home Affairs, Alhaji Hamza Muhammad Borodo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Higher Education  Bashir Ruwangodiya, Senior special Assistant on Media, Alhaji Abdu Labaran Malumfashi and the Senior special Assistant on social media, Alhaji Abdulhadi Ahmed Bawa Faskari.
