The commissioner of Women affairs Katsina state, Dr. Badiyya Hassan Mashi has donated foodstuffs, mosquito nets to over 1000 vulnerable women for this year’s Ramadan.
Dr. Badiyya made the symbolic presentation of the items during women’s Da’awa tafsir to the chairperson, Malama Murja Duwan for distribution at the multipurpose women center in Katsina.
The commissioner said the gesture was part of the annual Ramadan incentives given to vulnerable women by Governor Masari’s led administration.
“As you know these incentives given to you is part of the annual Ramadan incentives from our able governor Aminu Bello Masari”.
“The current administration is doing all its possible best to improve the life of women in the state.” She added
“This gesture is to bring succor to the less-privilege, orphans and vulnerable in this holy month’’
“I will also like to admonish all of us present to make an accurate use of the knowledge acquired during this tafsir especially in upbringing our children with good morals for the betterment of our society”.
“The issue of drug abuse among our children is rampant, we, however, must be vigilant on the conduct of our children.”
She, however, called on women to support government programmes and policies toward achieving relevant development in the state.
In her remark, Malama Murja Duwan applauded the effort of the Honorable commissioner noting that the gesture will be used judiciously by the beneficiaries.
She charged the well to do individuals in the state to continue to assist needy especially in this holy month of Ramadan.
The distribution of foodstuffs and clothing materials had become an annual event in the state, where the needy and orphans are given sense of belonging.
The items donated include 30 bags of Maize, Millet, and 1000 mosquito nets.
