The Commissioner for women affairs, Dr. Badiyya Hassan Mashi has called on women in the state to support Governor Masari’s re-election bid in 2019.
Dr. Badiyya made the call during the presentation of empowerment packages to 1000 physically challenge women yesterday at multipurpose women centre in Katsina.
The commissioner expressed gratitude to governor Masari for provision of empowerment packages for her ministry to support physically challenge women in the state.
She expressed the hope that the beneficiaries would reciprocate the gesture through supporting government policies and programmes.
According to her, the empowerment packages being presented was part of the programme to make them comfortable during the holy month of Ramadan.
While speaking, Governor Aminu Masari explained that APC’s constitution had spelt out that an office must be preserved for physically challenged persons at ward,local government, state and national chapters of the party.
He assured that the APC administration in the state would continue to design policies and programmes to improve the socia-economic well being of the physically challenged persons In the state.
This, he asserted would be done to curtail street begging in the state, adding that the bill for the re-establishment of the state Rehabilitation Board is before the state house of assembly for consideration.
