A Nigerian diplomat Mr. Habibu Almustapha was found dead on Thursday the 10th of May, 2018 at his home in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, according to two security sources.
The security sources as gathered by www.katsinapost.com however said that Police were investigating the incident but provided no details on how he died.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed his death through the spokesperson of the ministry, Tope Elias-Fatile in a WhatsApp message on Thursday in Abuja.
Our source who is an indigen of Katsina and now studying in one of the Universities in Khartoum who also pleaded for anonymity told katsinapost.com that Mr. Habibu Almustapha was Deputy Comptroller, Nigerian Immigration Servive before his death.
Dubai-based al-Arabiya television identified the diplomat as the consul general and described his death as an “assassination.”
Reports on social media suggested that the killers used a knife in the attack.
