The Chanji Boys attacker has stated that they are coping with the added pressure of trying to be among the best clubs in the league.
Katsina United’s Martin Ursule has revealed that they are coping with the added pressure of their trying to be among the top three teams in the league.
Ursule was in action when the Chanji Boys pipped Plateau United 1-0 on Sunday and the attacker pointed that though they are surprised with their current position in the league table that they are doing everything possible to measure up with other clubs in that cadre.
“It has not been easy with us at all with the pressure on us from the fans and from the one we put on ourselves to ensure that we remain among the top teams in the league,” Ursule told Goal.
“We know that our present position in the league table has made us become the envy of all but we are adjusting to life with the new arrangement and are hoping for the best. We know we can even finish higher than our present position in the league log.
“I want to say that Plateau United had their chances to beat us but they didn’t take them but we were able to stop them before we got what turned out to be the winning goal. We know with more hard work, we will play even better than we did against the reigning league champions.”
The former Niger Tornadoes striker is his club’s leading scorer with six goals and his goals have helped Katsina United move to the third spot in the league table with 30 points from 20 games.
