The Katsina State Government says it will continue to pay fees for the disabled students writing the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in the state.

The governnor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari made the disclosure at the state house when he received the delegation of the association of the disabled in the state led by the chairman of the All progressive congress(APC) Mallam Shittu S Shittu.

Masari promised to pay for all the candidates who are eligible to sit for the WAEC examination.

He added that, Payment of WAEC fees for students in public schools is the government’s responsibility and its also a priority to his administration so as to improve the quality of education in the state.

The governor also promise students who pass the exam with six (6) credits to get a scholarship to continue with their tertiary education.

He called on the disabled  who have completed tertiary education to submit their credentials for job screening at the APC head office in the state.

Masari further explained the effort his administration is making in providing special assistance to the disabled to ease their difficulty in academic environment.

He pledges to provide hearing aids,wheelchairs,computer systems, and to build a hospital for the lepers so they can be getting drugs as at when due.

The Governor thank the group for there support and wish them journey mercy back to their destination.
