
Late Liman Lawal buried amidst tears at Dantakum cemetery
The Katsina state Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari was this Sunday among thousands of Muslims that attended the funeral rites of the late reply chief imam of Katsina central mosque, Liman Muhammad Lawal.
Liman Gambo Ratibi offered the two raka’ats for the funeral prayers.
Governor Masari was accompanied by the state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, the secretary to the Katsina state government, Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa and some members of the state executive council.
The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmummini Kabir Usman, Some District Heads and some traditional title holders attended the funeral prayers. Kangiwa square, venue of the funeral prayers was full to capacity with people from all walks of life.
Later Governor Masari was at the Palace of the Emir where he offered condolences over the demise of the chief Imam.
Governor Masari described him as the epitome of simplicity, humbleness and above all, the fear of Allah.
The Governor prayed God to grant eternal rest to late Liman Lawal and for the family, the Emir and the Emirates to bear with the irreparable loss.
