Over 200 women out of the 3, 700 that commenced the school feeding programme in Katsina state have failed the contractual agreements.

Hajiya Binta Abba Umar, the special adviser to governor Aminu Bello Masari on Girls-Child Education announced this to newsmen in Katsina.

According to her, though the exercise is commendable but there was challenges along the lines.

She said many women have withdraws the money for their own personal used adding that they will refund the money or face the wrath of law.

Hajiya Binta added that about 200 women lodged the complained about ATM collected by either their husband or taken away by their children.

It can be recalled that about 876,000 primary school Pupils in Katsina State are to benefit from Home-Grown School Feeding Programme.

This is even as the state government employed 11,000 food vendors to cook for the pupils in the state.

The feeding programme was flagged off for primary one to three pupils in Katsina.

Hajiya Binta Abba Umar, the state Coordinator of the programme, said the programme would go a long way in reducing the sufferings of primary school pupils in the state.

Governor Masari said it is imperative to mainstream school feeding as a policy of his government, just as he said the programme is very important particularly that the primary education is fundamental as it is the foundation of the education sector.
