The Katsina state Executive Council has approved the asphalting of Musawa – Dangani – DanAli – Mararrabar DanAli road. 

The state commissioner of works, Housing and Transport, Engineer Tasi’u Dandagoro disclosed this shortly after the 3rd executive council meeting of the year 2018 presided over by Governor Aminu Bello Masari at government house, Katsina.

Engineer Tasi’u Dandagoro announced that the road would be provided with shoulders to upgrade it to a standard road.

The works and housing commissioner also revealed that a new dam would be constructed at Danja at the cost of over 7 billion naira for domestic and irrigation purposes.

In addition, Engineer Tasi’u Dandagoro said 10 new earth dams are to be provided while 10 old earth dams are to be rehabilitated in 20 local government areas across Katsina state.

On his part, the special Adviser to the governor on power and energy announced that the Executive council also agreed to engage the services of consultants for the upgrade and conversion of General Amadi Rimi Orthopedic hospital to a teaching hospital for the about to take off UMYU faculty of medicine.

Other projects which the council members approve the hiring of consultants for include the establishment of Katsina health system fund, the establishment of school of post basic nursing, establishment of VVF Centre and state infectious laboratory health Centre among others.

All the above development projects according to the the Honorable Commissioner of Works, Housing and Transport Alhaji Tasi’u Dahiru Dandagoro said will cost the government no less than N9.3bn.

The commissioner of information, culture and home affairs, Alhaji Hamza Muhammad Borodo who coordinated the press briefing announced the setting up of a standard committee on Drug abuse.

Alhaji Hamza Muhammad Borodo said the APC administration had concern over the negative engagement of youths and even women in illicit drug He assured that the executive council would provide enough logistics and financial support for the committee to achieve the task of curbing the negative trend in the state.
