Diseases causing the mysterious death of students in IKCOE reportedly revealed
Reports reaching us at katsinapost.com has it that the cholera and meningitis are suspected to be the main cause of the mysterious death of students of Isa Kaita College of Education in Katsina as reported by the Independent newspaper.
The cholera and meningitis outbreaks weresaid to have occurred due to overcrowding and lack of toilets facilities in most of the private hostels the students occupied.
This situation forced management of the college of education to shut down the institution for two weeks.
The decision to close down the institution, according to a source, was reached after an emergency meeting of the school’s academic board held last Friday.
But Malam Muntari Bala, the Public Relations Officer of the institution, said, “Four students died a month ago but the causes of death varies.
