On March 8, Bukar led the debate on the two bills he sponsored on the Nigerian building and road research institute and a bill to establish the Federal Polytechnic Daura.

Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu recalled how the late Bukar pleaded that his two bills be carried on 7th last month.

“We couldn’t carry it on that until the following day.

After that day he did not come back until death. He will be remembered as senator who served his people till death,” he said.

Also, Minority leader, Godswill Akpabio said whenhe was presenting the bills, they never knew, they were bidding Bukar farewell.

Senate Leader Ahmad Lawan called for quick passage of the bills, saying “So that the bills can be in his name.”
