The Federal Government is to spend additional N100 million on rehabilitation of some dilapidated portions of Dayi, Malumfashi to Kano road this year.

The Kano Zonal Coordinator of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Engr. Adedayo Adebayo revealed this to Newsmen in Kano on Thursday.

According to him, all necessary arrangements had been completed for the award of the contract.

The I25 kilometre road links Kano State with Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States as well as the neighbouring Niger Republic.

Mr. Adedayo said the federal government had so far spent over N39 million on direct labour on the road, including patching of potholes and shoulders repairs.

He said that when completed, it would reduce the increasing number of road crashes being recorded on the road almost on daily basis.

Chaiiiii, frankly speaking I was completely disappointed with this so called government, how could a government voted by the people to be abandoned as if they were not a human beings, Shargalle – Dutsi- Yandoma – Ingawa road became a death trap, there would be no single day an accident will no occur on the said road but government forget about it, May God help the people residing within that locality.
