The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari has stated that the S-Power programme as introduced by his administration is aimed at increasing primary schools teachers population in the State.

Also, the Governor stated that vacancies created by permanent and pensionable teachers in the various schools that have died or retired will also be filled from those enrolled into the S-Power programme and found deserving and hardworking.

The Governor gave this hint while granting live 2-hour interview with media houses chiefs at Muhammadu Buhari House on Sunday, the 1st of April, 2018.

It could be recalled that the Katsina State Government says it will recruit 5,000 holders of National Certificate of Education (NCE) under its programme tagged ‘S-Power’ to shore up its teaching staff in primary schools.

Mr. Masari said the programme, which is similar to that of the Federal Government’s ‘N-Power programme’, was aimed at reducing unemployment especially among the teeming unemployed youths.

He said the programme was part of the administration’s determination to fight unemployment and reduce poverty in the state.

According to him, the NCE holders will be posted to teach in primary schools to improve the development of education in the state.
