News reaching us at katsinapost.com has it that the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari -owned Nigerian Metrological Agency (NiMet) has concluded plans for the establishment of a training institute in Katsina, the Katsina State capital.
This was made known to the general public by the Executive Governor of the State Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari during a 2-hour media chat with some selected media house chiefs in and around the state on Sunday, the 1st of April, 2018.
According to the Governor, the institute will be located within the State’s Permanent site of the Institute of Technology and Management Studies and will draw its students from the seven (7) states of the North-western part of Nigeria.
The chief managers of the media houses that interviewed the Governor are the General Managers of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Katsina Mr. Ayinde Shuwaga, Companion FM, Alhaji Usman Tsiga, State Radio Service, Alhaji Sani Bala Kabomo, State Television, Alhaji Sani Bello Kuringafa and Vision FM, Alhaji Sani Garba Riko among others.
It could be recalled that the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari appointed Professor Sani Abubakar Mashi, as the new Director-General, Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMeT).
He is a Professor of geography with specialty in environmental application of remote sensing, Professor Mashi is currently a Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of Abuja.
