Armed gunmen disguising as women had stormed the family house of Ahmed Mahuta in Malumfashi and kidnapped two elderly woman Hajiya Duduwa and Hajiya A’isha, Daily Trust reports.
The reporter gathered that Aisha was later released by her abductors due to her deteriorating health condition but went away with Duduwa who is her daughter.
Aisha is the mother of former Resident Electoral Officer of INEC Hussaini Mahuta and Executive Director, Labour and cabotage, Nigeria Maritime and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Gambo Mahuta.
Sources say the abductors who disguised as women, wore hijabs and stormed her residence located at Tudun Balan Maiduna in Maulfashi town at about 10pm.
It was gathered that the abductors have alreaady reached out to the family demanding N300m as ransom for her release.
Efforts to get reactions from police proved abortive as the command spokesman DSP Gambo Isah did not answer calls placed nor text message sent.
