Katsina state ranked least in terms of unemployment rate in Nigeria

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has ranked Katsina state 3.2%, which emerged least in terms of unemployment rate in Nigeria.

The NBS stated this in it’s 2017 Labour Force Statistics Volume 2 reports, “Unemployment and Underemployment report third-quarter 2017” as seen by Katsina post.

According to the report, those who worked less than 20 hours a week and those who did absolutely nothing were classified as unemployed.

The report also indicates that those worked between 20 and 39 hours or did jobs not commensurate with their qualifications and skills were classified as underemployed.

The report noted that in the third quarter of 2017, 77.55 million people in Nigeria were engaged in economic activities from a labor force of 85.08 million.
