UPDATE: Katsina students delegation left Nigeria for Tunisia to participate in IFEST 2018
His Excellency the Governor of Katsina State Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari has approved the trip to Tunisia for Government College Day wing Funtua to represent Katsina State and Nigeria at the International Science, Engineering and Technology Festival.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations officer of the state’s ministry of education, Salisu Lawal Kerau to newsmen and gotten by katsinapost.com on behalf of the Honorable Commissioner.
According to him, all is now set the State contingent to undertake the trip.
Katsina State qualified to represent Nigeria as a result of being the National Champions of the similar national competition held in Abuja with their project titled “Multipurpose Thermal Solar Collector”
It could be recalled that Katsina Post earlier reported to you that Government College Day wing (Senior) Funtua, in Katsina State has been selected to represent Nigeria in the upcoming International Festival of Engineering Science and Technology (IFEST) 2018 edition in Tunisia.
This was contained in an official invitation sent to the school through the Executive Governor of the State, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari and seen by our correspondent which was received by the ministry of Education on 6th February, 2018.
According to the invitation,the school have been chosen to represent Nigeria in one of the most prestigious and innovative science fairs and that the finale rating does not depend solely on the school project and presentation but various trials.
IFEST is a scientific competition in different areas that shall improve and develop the young scientists’ skills and show how innovative they can be.
The students invited are Ahmad Saidu, Zaharaddeen Sulaiman and Mustapha Kabiru aandthe festival is scheduled tohold from 16th of March to24th March, 2018.
