The Katsina state house of assembly has called on the executive arm to construct maternal and children hospital in Bindawa town, Bindawa local government area.
The call was contained in a resolution of the house after lawmakers adopted a motion sponsored by the member representing the area, Honorable Ummaru Ali Bindawa.
Deputy speaker of the house, Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki who presided over the sitting directed the clerk to forward the resolution to the executive arm.
According to Ummaru Ali Bindawa, constructing the hospital will assist in reducing maternal and mortality rate in Bindawa and the neighboring local government areas.
He pointed out that over 80 percent of patients attending various health centers are women and children, hence the need for the government to construct the facility.
He said the motion come at the right time when present administration attaches priority to health service delivery to the citizenry of the state.
