The Executive Secretary of Kastina State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, anda chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Aminu Waziri on Monday joined his voice in calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to seek re-election in 2019.
Speaking to DAILY POST in a phone interview on Monday, Waziri canvassed support for Buhari, saying that the re-electionof the President in 2019 would enable him consolidate on the progress so far made by his administration.
He said, “So far, so good, President Buhari has done a wonderful job and he is doing a wonderful job to the country. What is important as we all knowis sincerity of purposes.
If you look at the challenges when the present government came on board, you will agree with me that Mr president is doing whatever that is possible to ensure things work well for the country.
“He is doing it with sincerity of purpose. You cannot doubt President Buhari sincerity, how he handles issues. Based on assement, there is need for him to consolidate on the progress made so far by his administration”.
The APC Chieftain hailed the appointment of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to head the party’s reconciliation committee and expressed confidence that the former Lagos governor would reconcile all aggrieved members to enable the party win the 2019 elections.
“The appointment of Senator Tinubu to head APC reconciliation is a good step in a right direction.
In any place you find yourself, you agree and disagree. That does not mean there will be no room for reconciliation. So, President Buhari in his wisdom decides that Senator Ahmed Tinubu should lead the reconciliation. Is a commendable one.
“His appointment is a welcome development. All the warring parties, i believe Senator Tinubu will give them a fair hearing. And the end of the day, we shall comeout stringer,” he said.
Waziri also backed the extension of the tenure of John Odigie-Oyeyun-led National Working Committee of the party, stressingthat it “is to allow the national working committee, NWC, of our party to continue for the next oneyear as to allow both the party and the leadership in the country to consolidate on the existing progress made so far”.
He called on Nigerians to continue supporting the APC led federal government in its efforts to transform the nation’s economy.
