Katsina NAWOJ: Zonal leaders reversed the suspension of Chairperson, treasurer 


The recent press release alleging passing of a vote of no confidence on chairperson and tressure of Katsina State NAWOJ has been condemned by the National Secretariat.

This is contained in a statement signed by the association’s Zonal Secretary, Hajiya Khadija Saidu and gotten by our correspondent.

According to the statement, “In view of this National Secretary has directed that the status quo must be maintained in the leadership of Katsina State NAWOJ.” 

The statement further stated that “Hauwa Ibrahim Elladan and Rabi Samanja Bala remains the official and recognized chairpersons and treasure of Katsina State NAWOJ Respectively pending when the issues at stake are looked into for lasting solution.”

“The National Secteriat tasks leaderships and members at all levels to uphold the integrity of the association and stay away from going to the press on every matter.” She urged.

Finally, the statement also cautioned all the alleged newly nominated leaders to stay off parading themselves as the association’s leaders.

It could be recalled that the reported to you that the Nigerian Association of Women Journalist (NAWOJ) Katsina state chapter has passed votes of no confidence to the chairperson Hauwa Yalladan and treasurer of the union Rabi’a Samanja Bala of the ministry of information and state radio respectively.

At the congress meeting, union members accused the duo of financial misappropriations with the union’s funds and sideline of members on activities of the union.

The decisions have also been communicated to theKatsina state council of Nigerian Union of Journalists, National and zonal unions of NAWOJ for their information.
