Katsina NAWOJ removes chairperson, duputy over misappropriations


The Nigerian Association of Women Journalist (NAWOJ) Katsina state chapter has passed votes of no confidence to the chairperson Hauwa Yalladan and treasurer of the union Rabi’a Samanja Bala of ministry of information and state radio respectively.

At the congress meeting, union members accused the duo of financial misappropriations with the union’s funds and side line of members on activities of the union.

The decisions has also been communicated to the Katsina state council of Nigerian Union of Journalists, National and zona unions of NAWOJ for their information.

Mean while, the members has resolved to appoint former secretary of the union Hauwa Ibrahim Jikamshi of KTTV as the New chairperson and Asmau Lawal Ruma of state Radio as vice chairperson, while Hannatu Muhammad of NTA as the Secretary.

Others include Binta Mamman of Ministry of information to serve as treasurer and Hauwa G. Abubakar of NTA as the new auditor of the union.
