Communities of Kuka Sheka in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina state have cried out over lack of basic social amenities in their area and called on the state to come to their aid, Daily Trust reports.

The spokesperson of the area Alhaji Mannir Lawal Sada who made the plea when the traditional head – Kanwan Katsina District head of Ketare visited them in his ongoing tour of his domain.

He listed the needed items to include, need for the state government to construct Sabon Layi-Kuka Sheka-Mashigi road to ease transportation difficulties.

“There is also need to construct a day secondary school in Kuka Sheka as student from the area travel to neighbouring Burdugau and Malumfashi for secondary education.

The Unguwar Mai Gari, a Nomadic settlement primary school build through communal efforts was destroyed by rainstorm last rainy season and pupils take lesson in an unfavourable condition” he said.

Others are additional blocks of class rooms at Mashigi and Unguwar Alhaji Garba in addition to their electrification.‎

“We also want to appeal for the o speedy paymentof compensation to the farmers whose lands were used for the expansion of Mashigi Dam and water works” he added.

Responding, the District Head Usman Bello Kankara promised to forward their complains to relevant authorities for necessary action And called on people of the area to always support government policies and programs for their development.
