IFEST 2018: Katsina secondary school students to represent Nigeria in Tunisia


Government College Day wing (Senior) Funtua, in Katsina State has been selected to represent Nigeria in the upcoming International Festival of Engineering Science and Technology (IFEST) 2018 edition in Tunisia.

This is contained in an official invitation sent to the school through the Executive Governor of the State, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari and seen by our correspondent which was received by the ministry of Education on 6th February, 2018.

According to the invitation, the school have been chosen to represent Nigeria in one of the most prestigious and innovative science fairs and that the finale rating does not depend solely on the school project and presentation but various trials.

IFEST is a scientific competition in different areas that shall improve and develop the young scientists’ skills and show how innovative they can be.

Those invited to the festival are Malam Gambo Yakubu and Malam Yazid Ahmad whom are the state JETS coordinator and Project supervisor, respectively.

The students invited are Ahmad Saidu, Zaharaddeen Sulaiman and Mustapha Kabiru aand the festival is scheduled to hold from 16th of March to 24th March, 2018.

It could be recalled that KATSINA POST earlier reported to you last year that two students from Katsina state of Government College Day Wing, Funtua won a bronze medal at international festival of science and engineering competition in Tunisia.

These students according to our sources are: Umar Bala and Jamilu Sagir. It was also gathered that they were fully sponsored by the state government under the leadership of His Excellency the Executive Governor of katsian State RT.HON Aminu Bello Masari.
