The Katsina state house of assembly has called for the total overhauling of the state pilgrims welfare board for efficient hajj operation.

This is part of the recommendation by the house committee on religious affairs on monitoring and evaluation of the 2017 hajj exercise.

While presenting the report, the acting chairman of the committee, Abdullahi Ibrahim Mahuta listed other recommendation which include reconstitution of the committee responsible for renting accommodations in Makka for The state pilgrim.

The committee also recommends that appointment of hajj officials should be based on merits and experience.

He called for adequate arrangement by the board for the effective transportation of pilgrims in saudi Arabia.

The pilgrims board was also urged to always report to the ministry of religious affairs in all its administration issues with government.

The speaker of the house, Abubakar Yahya Kusada however directed the Clark of the house to forward the recommendation to the executive arm for implementation.
