Katsina state ministry of education has disassociated itself from illegal fees that some private schools are charging in the name of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the state.
This was contained in a press statement signed by public relation officer, for honourable commissioner of education ,Salisu Lawal Kerau on 16, February, 2018 and made available to newsmen in the state.
“The general public, especially parents and guardians are hereby informed that Katsina state government has already paid all examination fees in respect of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for all Katsina state JSS 3 candidates in both public and private schools across the state” the statement said.
More so, the state ministry of education urged all the private schools across the state engaged in such miscreants to refund the fees to parents and guardians with immediate effect, a failure of compliance will attract appropriate sanction.
Finally, Katsina state ministry of education has warned all the private schools across the state to henceforth desist from charging any illegal fees to JSS 3 students in regard to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
