The Katsina state governor, Aminu Bello Masari has called on the electorate to register with the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) to obtain voters card.
Masari made the call at 1-day workshop on save the change programme organized by the office of the special adviser to the governor on political affairs in Funtua.
Represented by his special adviser on political affairs, Alhaji Usman Bala Zango, Masari said the voters’ card is only document to fight corruption.
He lamented that despite the enrollment exercise has commenced since last year but many people failed to register describing the failure as threat to national political process.
Masari however urged people irrespective of the gender to obtain the voters card.
In a remark, a consultant, Bishir Danmusa said, “The essence of the exercise is to enlighten the electorate on the change agenda, and success recorded and needed to sustain the change agenda.”
During the workshop, resource persons, Malam Bishir Usman Ruwangodiya and Dr. Aliyu Mukhtar, presented papers on good governance.
